Gene pool: All the alleles contained in the gametes of all the individuals in the blank. First what is an allele? Second what are gametes? And last what are gametes contained in?

OpenStudy (blues):

If a gene is like a message passed between generations, the alleles of that gene are all the possible contents that message can have. They are often referred to as 'versions of a gene.' Gametes are reproductive cells. They have half the number of chromosomes as normal body cells, so when two gametes fuse they form a single, fertilized cell. This single, fertilized cell divides many times and eventually becomes an organism. Gametes are contained in the testes of men and the ovaries of women.
