solutions to f(x) = x^3 + 8x^2 + 15x - 70 using synthetic division

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know one of the answers is 2. Idon't know the others

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

you mean you want to factor it right ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no I mean I need the solutions to it. You may have to use the quadratic formula actually. But is that possible having - 70 at the end?

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

=>x^3 + 10x^2 -2x^2 +35x - 10x -70 =>x^3+10x^2 +35x - 2x^2-20x -70 =>x(x^2 +10x + 35) -2(x^2 +10x + 35) =>(x-2)(x^2 +10x + 35) piece of cake from here now! ;)

Oh i see what you mean now. Thank you so much!
