Explain whether the polynomials below are written in standard form. If not, use complete sentences to explain how to write the polynomial in standard form.

OpenStudy (ash2326):

@Kaylaaa post your polynomials

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. 3a3b – 4ab2 + a2 2.–8x2y2 + 10xy4 – 6x2y

@ash2326

OpenStudy (ash2326):

@Kaylaaa brb I'll come and help you

OpenStudy (ash2326):

@Kaylaaa let's begin. Sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohkaaay

OpenStudy (ash2326):

The Standard Form for writing a polynomial is to put the terms with the highest degree first. if you have two variables, add the powers of both then check if they are in descending orders of power

OpenStudy (ash2326):

Can you check the two now?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

@Kaylaaa ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry , i just dont get this:/

OpenStudy (ash2326):

We have \[ 3a^3b – 4ab^2 + a^2\] here the first term has a^3 and b^1 so power total=3+1=4 second term is -4ab^2 so total power= 1+2=3 Do you get this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yess , im starting to get it now.!! (:

OpenStudy (ash2326):

ok, what's the power of the third term?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

@Kaylaaa ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

omg i dont even know , its fine just forget it ill guess on this question.

OpenStudy (ash2326):

@Kaylaaa don't give up, just like that

OpenStudy (ash2326):
