Simplify 2x + 3x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just add them..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can also write it as: \[\huge (2 + 3)x\] Now tell me what you get??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

give me an example

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok let us do it: Suppose we have to find: 10x + 10x Then: \[\huge (10+10)x\] 10 + 10 = 20 So, I get: \[\huge (20)x = 20x\] Now apply the same procedure there..

So d answer for my question is (2+3)x + 5x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes it is right..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x+3x ( since both are linear i.e with degree of 1) we can add them directly to get ==5x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You take pretty long to type
