PPLLLLLEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZzz help!!!! In complete sentances explain how to verify zeros of a funtion!! <3

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

If x = k is a zero of f(x), then f(k) = 0

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

For example, if x = 3 is a zero of f(x) = x^2-5x+6, then f(3) = 0

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Substitute the zeroes in place of the variable, and see if the function value is zero. If yes, then it's a zero alright. That is, for a function f(x), if f(k)=0, then k is a zero of f(x).

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Basically, you plug in the given possible zero into the function for x. If you get the number zero as a result, then it's a zero.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Visually, you can graph the function. Where it crosses the x-axis is where the zeros lie.
