Step 1: Create a Figure Create a figure or drawing in Quadrant I of a coordinate plane that has at least eight points or vertices. Get creative! You can change colors, make a drawing, or try writing your name! Need an idea? Ideas: The first initial of your name, a star, a heart, a flower, a football? Step 2: Transform the Figure Transform the figure three times. Use each of the following transformations one time: dilation, reflection, rotation. You can use the same coordinate plane to create these new figures. Be sure to include the rule for each transformation. A GeoGebra interacti

Step 3: Answer the Questions1.For the dilation, what was your scale factor? 2.For the reflection, across which line did you reflect it? 3.For the rotation, how many degrees was it rotated and in which direction? Step 4: What to Submit Submit the following to your instructor: 1.Your coordinate plane with pre-image. 2.The three transformed images on the same coordinate plane as the pre-image. 3.Answers to the three questions: 1.For the dilation, what was your scale factor? 2.For the reflection, across which line did you reflect it? 3.For the rotation, how many degrees was it rotated and in which direction? *Note: Please submit the written portion of this assignment using a word processing document or by copying and pasting into the assignment box. need help pleas

OpenStudy (anonymous):

choose an image you want to draw that has eight points into this quadrant

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wat do you think should i draw?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

uhm... anything you like.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this ok?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

uhm... sure... but why not do your initial?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it would be easier to do step 2 and 3 that way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it dosent have 8 points

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how about doing n?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

uhm...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think that would be the easiest eight corner shape to transform

OpenStudy (anonymous):

much better

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah so now wat

|dw:1342122180638:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do step 2. Sorry it's taking so long... I'm trying to draw it out and I forget that webcam has a mirror effect

OpenStudy (anonymous):

basically, it's http://www.mathsteacher.com.au/year8/ch10_geomcons/12_trans/trans.htm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah and dont worry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im going to take i wile

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no luck...............

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is what your drawing should look like

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for 1, it's reflection. For 2, rotation of 180 degrees at the point of origin, 3) dilation under the scale factor 2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it looks a little bit

OpenStudy (anonymous):

also, the smaller image on 3 is the original image in quadrant 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry it's blurry :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dont worry your douing a big favor

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for reflection, you reflected across the x-axis.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its not in the pic right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the rotation is 180 degrees to the right with the point of origin at the center.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The (simplified) rules are: dilation=multiply the size of image by a number rotation=rotate the image either counterclockwise or clockwise reflection=like a mirror, the image faces the opposite side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hope it kinda helps... :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you have a webcam?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok let me see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think the question is asking you to hand draw it and take a picture of it and put it inside the word doc.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you ok from here on?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh well... Hope I helped.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah if need any help i will send you a message thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. yw.
