explain why a block of gold is more dense then a block of iron of equal size

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Density is mass over volume. Some metals are more dense than others because they pack better in a lattice; their atoms can pack tightly in a given amount of space. More mass per unit volume = more dense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Gold has more weight per volume than iron, and would displace less water than an equal weight of iron.
