Am I right????? (My answer) ----> Part 1: The mistake was made in line 3 Part 2: 21 + 35 / 7 + 6(2) 21 + 5 + 6(2) 21 + 5 + 12 26 + 12 38

Part 2 answer is okay

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

Danny made a mistake in the following problem. Part 1) In which line was the mistake made? Part 2) Show your work and give the correct answer? Line 1 21 + 35 ÷ 7 + 6(2) Line 2 21 + 5 + 6(2) Line 3 21 + 11(2) Line 4 21 + 22 Line 5 43

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have to first multiply and divide before adding, so 35/7 = 5 and 2(6) = 12, then add the three numbers 21+5+12 and you get 38. The wrong step would be in the third line, where they added 5+6 and then multiplied by 2, instead of multiplying 6 by 2 and adding.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Line 3 is the mistake. According to BODMAS rule multiplication is preceded by addition. therefore we have to first multiply 6 and 2 and then add 5

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

So i am right, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes you are Nice job!

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

Thank you!! :)
