Choose the missing step in the given solution to the inequality -x - 10 > 14 + 2x. -x - 10 > 14 + 2x -3x -10 > 14 x < -8

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

so what do you think is the missing step/s?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it requires a few steps to solve the problem but here they are -3x > 14 +10 -3x > 24 3x < -24 x < -8 notice the change of the inequality sign when you multiply both sides by -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is it ?

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

-x-10>14+2x first make constants at one sides -x-10+10>14+10+2x -x>24+2x & now make variables at one sides -x+x>24+2x+x 0>24+3x now u can take 24 to L.H.S. like -24>3x -24/3>x -8>x
