OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What are you having trouble understanding with it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im new here my name is Dr.Illas Mckay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hello Dr. Illas Mckay :) I'm Becca. Welcome to OpenStudy! Okay, you do know where it is, at least, right? (right under these reply boxes?)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay Actrually I am PhD. In economics and finding that group

Parth (parthkohli):

http://openstudy.com/groups/Economics how about this one?

Parth (parthkohli):

Or maybe http://openstudy.com/groups/Finance

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanku please guide me to use the equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha well either way, you're fine. What are you trying to put into the equation editor?

Parth (parthkohli):

All right. First press 'Equation editor', then you have a list of symbols :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, and just a sidenote if you need help in a different subject you can find the other subjects in the upper left "Find more subjects"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I tried to write my name.... it had no _ space

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You tried to write your name with the equation editor?

Parth (parthkohli):

It needs more advanced \(\LaTeX\). Yes. That's what it is called.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please

OpenStudy (mimi_x3):

For space do this "~"

Parth (parthkohli):

You type \text{Dr. Illas Mckay} on the equation editor :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh you want Latex...Parth and @lgbasallote and @apoorvk can help you with that.

OpenStudy (mimi_x3):

\[h~e~l~l~o\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[ \text{Dr. Illas Mckay} \] got it

OpenStudy (mimi_x3):

Yay!

Parth (parthkohli):

Yep :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please short it I am already 36 yrs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\text {Rebecca Kelly} \] lol that is fun :D

Parth (parthkohli):

You can learn \(\LaTeX\) from the sites :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well it showed a lot of corporation

Parth (parthkohli):

This site has restricted LaTeX. It can't use additional packages. It just has the normal mathmode symbols. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay in Google

Parth (parthkohli):

Also, if you become old enough, you'd discover that you can type LaTeX by your hand.

Parth (parthkohli):

\(\backslash ( \backslash)\) Keep this thing copied, and then you don't need to go the equation editor.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well I am very slow at typing things

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what does "If you become old enough" mean? In this context

Parth (parthkohli):

Type it within the \(\backslash ( \backslash)\)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

\(\Large\color{red}{\mathbf{w}}\) \(\LARGE\color{blue}{\mathsf{O}}\) \(\huge \color{green}{\mathbb{W}}\)

Parth (parthkohli):

As you become older on this site, you get the hang of \(\mathbf{\LaTeX}\). :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay got it truly difficult

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then about the smart score

Parth (parthkohli):

I used to find it difficult too!

Parth (parthkohli):

Oh wait, I have a link for the SS explanation.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

@IllasMcKay little tip you can right click on latex and show tex as it will show you the code

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ha ha ....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha Dr. Illas you can get it! It just takes practice The SmartScore shows your work on this site :D

Parth (parthkohli):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay got it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And here I would address you as my friends if you have any problem mail me i_mckay@dr.com

Parth (parthkohli):

Sure! :)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

is that a website? dr.com i mean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It just means he has his own domain.

Parth (parthkohli):

No, he doesn't. There's a website that provides domains like these :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well he probably pays someone else to host it, but he owns it.

Parth (parthkohli):

Well. He doesn't!

Parth (parthkohli):

These domains are free. I have an account named 'parthkohli@techie.com'

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

uhh...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I didn't know they had free domains out there. Awesome!

Parth (parthkohli):

http://mail.com

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

http://mail.openstudy.com <--example of free domain

Parth (parthkohli):

http://openstudy.com is not a free domain. It's owned by the admins.
