5. Is the line with equation x = 4 horizontal or vertical? What is the slope of this line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well... x = 3 is vertical so what about x = 4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Horizontal.?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is vertical but try graphing it first, that will help you understand

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = 4 only passes through the points where the x-coordinates are 4 so it could be (4,6) or (4,-27) but regardless, it's still vertical

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the slope or gradient of a vertical line is undefined, because nothing can be divided by 0
