helpppppppppppp !! :( what is the LCD of 3x/x+1 plus x+1/2x plus 5/x ??
The least common denominator of two or more non-zero denominators is actually the smallest whole number that is divisible by each of the denominators. Do you know what that means?
perhaps a demo @Ledah ?
would it be x then ? since thats the only one that goes into all of the denominators ?
Look again. Looking for the smallest whole number.
soo then it would be .... 1 ... ?
First we list the multiples of each denominator. Multiples of 5 are 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40,… Multiples of 6 are 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48,… Multiples of 15 are 30, 45, 60, 75, 90,….
take a look at the example
Now, when you look at the list of multiples, you can see that 30 is the smallest number that appears in each list. Therefore, the least common denominator of 1/5, 1/6 and 1/15 is 30
ohhhh i was thinking it would be like a really small number ..
30 isnt one of my choices though :/ i have A) 2(x2 + 1) B) 2x + 1 C) 2x(x + 1) D) 2(x + 1)
Nah. Lol I could've explained better :O sorry lol
oh haha you're fine !
Okay so in this case. Might be a bit tougher..
thats what i was thinking :P
this is why I hated Algebra 2 -_-
same :/ i might just guess . it wont kill me to get one problem wrong :)
make the best guess you can then :D
