do you know the definition of secant (of an angle)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, actually depending on the textbook you use, this may or may not be the definition: \(\huge sec\theta=\frac{1}{cos\theta} \)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

secant of an angle is just the reciprocal of the cosine of the angle... so do you know \(\large cos(\frac{3\pi}{2})= \)???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good... so, \[\huge sec\frac{3\pi}{2}=\frac{1}{cos\frac{3\pi}{2}}=\frac{1}{0}= \]???? please don't say zero..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what's 1/0 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

stick it in your calculator... what does it say?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

infinityy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok.... no value... \(\large sec\frac{3\pi}{2}=undefined \)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you@

yw...:)
