The motion of the train and the french fry rolling on the table is all in the horizontal direction. The initial velocity in the vertical direction is V1 = 0. Use that with the height of the table to find the time it takes to fall to the ground.

yes i did 1.13m=1/2(9.8)(t^2), which led me to 0.48s, but apparently the answer shown on the website is 0.152s. Idk what i did wrong...

Oh I think i found the error. I believe the website converted 113cm to 0.113m instead of 1.13m. http://www.physicsclassroom.com/calcpad/vecproj/problems.cfm #26a
