that would mean that there will be only one x-coordinate that is corresponding to one y-coordinate. This answers your first question. For the second question, let swap x and y in the equation and solve for y. So f(x) becomes x and f^-1 becomes y
note that the domain of the first equation becomes the range for the second equation
