Sketch the vector field F F(x,y,z)=j-i Please give me a second to draw it.

|dw:1342305187488:dw| I'm not sure anymore. Is the i vector drawn parallel to the x axis in the negative direction of x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1342305366719:dw| Like so?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, because the the - sign.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do the arrows tilt a certain way because j is postive?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. you have to add the j component to the -i vector. best to do this in the xy-plane, since this field had no k component

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good idea.

and since the field has no dependance on x or y, the field is constant everywhere.
