OpenStudy (richyw):

how do I write a sum when I want it to be in half increments (if that makes any sense)

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

n/2?

OpenStudy (richyw):

So I want to sum up a function of x at points between 1 and 3 usually I would write this right?\[\sum^{3}_{i=1}f(x_i^*)\] But what if I want to sum the function at intervals of 0.5. Would I write this? \[\sum_{i=1}^{6}f(x_{i/2}^*)\]

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

yeah sorry i meant i/2

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

looks right to me
