Can someone explain the cyclical and spiral view of history? Also, which is more acceptable?

Ok first one Cyclical is cynical and under the assumption that one day the world will end. It measures moments by what impact that had on the limited time and how that really made a difference, or if it made one at all. Spiral view basically states that all events will eventually repeat in the future. The goal is to compare and contrast them to other and future events. Cyclical is for skeptics Spiral is for other people.
