Solve for using all three of the definitions of vertical, supplementary, and corresponding angles. Explain your reasoning.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you need to better define the question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry solve fore angle e

OpenStudy (amistre64):

are the 2 lines parallel?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the e=a=180-55

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i got no idea what to call the reasoning in regards to geometric proofs tho

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you explain a little more what you meant by " e=a=180-55 "

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lets work backward =) Since you are looking for e, you know that e is equal to a since they are corresponding angles. You also know that a+b = 180 degrees because they are supplementary angles. Since b and the 55 degrees are vertical angles, b = 55 degrees. That means that a = 180 - 55 = 125 degrees. Since e = a and a = 125, e = 125 degrees! You just need to know the definition of each of these terms =)

Wow thanks :D I needed someone like you to explain it better. Thanks again!

=) Anytime ^^
