Can you explain a little more what you meant by " e=a=180-55 "

Lets work backward =) Since you are looking for e, you know that e is equal to a since they are corresponding angles.
You also know that a+b = 180 degrees because they are supplementary angles.
Since b and the 55 degrees are vertical angles, b = 55 degrees.
That means that a = 180 - 55 = 125 degrees.
Since e = a and a = 125, e = 125 degrees!
You just need to know the definition of each of these terms =)
