What is the domain of f(x) = log(x + 3) – 4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u kno log (a) is defined only wen a>0

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

In other words, the domain is all values of x such that (x+3) > 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x+3) > 0 is the domain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x+3>0 x>-3 domain is the set of values of x that satisfy x+3>0

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

The blue function f(x) = ln(x+3) + 4 simply does not exist when x is -3 or x is less than -3. So the domain is all values of x GREATER than 3. :)
