Where does the graph of y = 2x2 + x − 15 cross the x-axis?

for y-intercepts set x = 0 so you get (0,y) point for x-intercepts set y = 0 so you get (x,0) point
and solve for the other variable
A plot of \[2 x^2+x-15 \]is attached.
a point on x-axis always has its y co-ordinate as 0. so substitute y = 0 in the given eq. u'll get 2x^2 +x - 15 = 0. now solve this as any quadratic equation and u'll have ur answer.
