Did I get this right? Use synthetic division to solve: (x^2 + 13x + 40) / (x + 8) My answer is in the comments.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got: 40x - 307 + 2457/x+8 Every answer I find on yahoo says it's x + 5 but that's not how my notes said it'd be done.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what does your synth look like?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know what that means. :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What's the synth?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

well, since we are talking about synthetic division; id assume it means your workings that you did with the synthetic division ....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait I think I know. Just a sec.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

and also, dont confine yourself to a method; use what makes it easier for you
