What is the inverse of the statement “If there is an open chair, then I will sit down”?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i always think inverse is a wrong name for it

Parth (parthkohli):

Statement: If P then Q. Inverse: If not P then not Q.

Parth (parthkohli):

To impress the teacher. Statement: \( p \Longrightarrow q\) Inverse \(\neg p \Longrightarrow \neg q\)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

p -> q should inverse to q -> p , but thats not right so i know its -p -> -q

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Parth (parthkohli):

Hmm. Instead, use words like 'not an open chair' and 'I will not sit down.'
