Did I get this right? My answer will be in the comments. Let f(x) = 3x^3 - 4x - 1 and g(x) = x + 1 .. Find f(x)/g(x)

I got 3x^2 + 1. Is that right? Yahoo said it's 3x^2 - 3x - 1 but I didn't get that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=1 is a rational root, I get: \[3x^2-3x-1\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you explain how you got that? :$
