10.) The following spinner is spun. Given the conditions listed below, what is the probability that: a. It lands on an odd number? b. It lands on a number divisible by 3? c. It does not land on 5, 6, or 7? d. It lands on a number less than 4?

I suppose I'd need to see the spinner, eh?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its a standard round spinner numbered 1-8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If each possibility is equally likely, then the probability of a success is \[\frac{\text{number of desirable outcomes}}{\text{total number of possible outcomes}}\]

The answer to a & b are 0. I just dont know why??

OpenStudy (kropot72):

Basewd on the information that is given and your information the answers to a & b cannot both be probability = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

WHy do you say that they are 0? A 0 probability means that they CAN'T happen. WHy wouldn't I be able to spin an odd number? Surely that is possible.

That's the problem I'm having. We were given the answers but have to find the equation making the answer true. I don't agree with the answers either! 0 does not make sense to me!
