Choose the correct simplification of the expression (6x^2y)^2(y^2)^3. 12x^4y^8 36x^4y^5 36x^4y^8 12x^2y^7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[(6x^2y)^2 \cdot (y^2)^3\] Do you know the rules of exponents?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope , what are they?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well first you expand everything which gives you |dw:1342411018799:dw| then you have to "multiply" but 1 rule says that for exponents if there is a multiplication symbol, you actually add them so you get|dw:1342411099508:dw| which is the 3rd choice!
