Massie bought a glass figure as a souvenir at a museum gift shop. The area of the rectangular base of the pyramid is 12 square centimeters. Its height is 7 centimeters. What is the volume of the pyramid?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think the volume of a pyrmid is 1/3 Bh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it 28 cm cubed

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here's the formula 1/2 × Perimeter × [Side Length] + [Base Area]

OpenStudy (klimenkov):

you're right. the volume can be found from: \[V=\frac 1 3 \cdot S _{base}\cdot h\] So, \[V=\frac 1 3 \cdot 12 \cdot 7 = 28 \ cm^3\]
