help please!!! Observe parallelogram ABCD plotted on the coordinate plane below. Part I: Provide the coordinates of a parallelogram A’B’C’D’ that is congruent to parallelogram ABCD. Explain why these figures are congruent. (4 points) Part II: Provide the coordinates of a parallelogram A’’B’’C’’D’’ that is similar to parallelogram ABCD. Explain why these figures are similar. (6 points)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well for Part 1 you could just shift all the coordinates by the same amount in some direction...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't get how to do that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ie if, for example, you upped the x cordinates by 1. you shift the whole thing 1 unit to the right (try it)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, in stead of -7,3 it would be -6,2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-7,2*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3* AH! i got it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it would be for part 1 A-(-7,3) B-(-5,8) C-(1,2) D-(-1,2) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'll take your word for it, I haven't looked...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol and part 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Double the lengths, maybe...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol alright

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Seems like you are getting the hang of it OK.
