All of the triangles in the figure below are congruent. What is the area of the figure? Note that all measurements are in centimeters. Note that the apothem shown is equal to 2 24cm2 36 + 24cm2 36 cm2 24 + 36cm2

@Romero can you help me with this one plz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the triangles \[base=4\]\[height=3\] the formula for the area of a triangle is \[\frac{1}{2}base*height\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you tell me the area of a triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm am not sure...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

base times height times 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got a ans thats not even up there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just tell me the area of a triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i multiply them together then divide it by two i got six, now what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i see twelve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Actually I made it a mistake in that picture. Look at the picture you have. I see 6 triangles. so 6*6=36

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but we need the area of the hexagon inside.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so the answer i 36cm sqaure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

plus something else

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[3*p*b=area\] where p=2 b=4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3*2*4=24 so the area of a hexagon is 24 36 + 24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

36 + 24?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you so much :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry it took a while. I read the question wrong for a while.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea thats ok..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good work!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually there was more to that answer it was 36 times 24 square root of three cm square
