Miss moneypenny inherits £1530 from a secret agent... She decides to save some of the money and spend the rest. The ratio of savings to spending money is 9:8, So how much does she save and how much does she spend?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Saves: 810 Spends: 720

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since the ration of saving to spending is 9:8 we can look at either side of the ratio as a part of a whole or sum. That being 17 (=9+8). So she saves 9/17 of the money and spends 8/17 of the money. Multiply the total money by either of the two fractions above to get the respective amounts saved and spent.

Oh also, this may sound silly but how do you ask another question on here?

Just use the messages option on the top left. It looks like a blue envelope.

Then choose "Write a New Message"
