Fill in the missing term so that the quadratic equation has a graph that opens up, with a vertex of (– 3, – 25), and x intercepts at x = -8 and x = 2. (Do not include the negative sign in your answer.) y = x2 + 6x − ___ Numerical Answers Expected!

If it has x-intercepts at -8 and 2 then two of its factors are (x+8)(x-2). --> (x+8)(x-2)=x^2+6x-16. Remember the equation we need starts with x^2+6x-___ so the missing term is -16. Since it says don't include the negative in the anxwer the answer is 16. You did not even need the vertex to solve this.
