circle = circle
ellipse = oval
parabola = u-shaped
hyperbola = 2 u-ish shaped lines

Algebra: scroll all the way down to the bottom of that page and you'll notice a table which lists the different types of conics. Look only at the ones that say Equation: (horiz. vertex) and (vert. vertex). Copy those equations down for the algebraic differences.
