is it hard to read music and if it is not where do i start?
Well for me, I read it with my instrument (violin) and learned the most basic notes, along with the open strings, G D A and E. From there I went to learn the different fingerings on each string, then moved on to sharps and flats and all that fancy stuff. Its honestly not too hard, its like a pattern really(: It helped me to write the notes on the paper when I started out and when I felt comfortable with a piece I would erase them
yeahtheres a start. you also need to learn the tempos and the key signature which is not very hard.tempo is usually in common time or 4/4 which mean 4 quarter notes makes 4 beats. and the key signature is just the order of sharps and flats nothing more but that it means that all notes in the signature are the same like all As' are flat or the Cs' and the Fs' are sharp.(Somebody else help me explain?)
I play the piano, the violin, and the cello and I think it's easy to read music if you play piano. Piano makes it really easy to visualize half/whole steps, sharps and flats, intervals, etc.. Just a tip. Piano is also a good instrument for beginner musicians :)
my first instrument was a trumpet... then to a tuba... then a guitar
Yes! I have heard piano was great for beginners definitely. My first instrument was trombone. So, I learned acronyms help like, G-ood, B-oys, D-o, F-ine, A-lways. Those where the notes on the staff. Use acronyms! :)
Acronyms help a lot! Just like @Day_2010 said, Good Boys Do Fine Always is a good one to remember for the lines on the staff(treble clef). The spaces spell F-A-C-E :)
if your specifically trying to read notes you can download a game app for smartphones which teaches you pretty easily, learning where it all is on an instrument takes practice
thanks a lot for all the help
learning music could come off as difficult if you dont know how, but if you practice, its eventually the easiest thing. first of all you should get some books or go on youtube to learn the basics. they will teach you and show you where to begin, then you want to keep trying and no matter how annoying it gets dont give up. if you do, you will never learn.
it is pretty easy if you learn the rhymes Treble clef...lines:Every Good Boy Deserves Fruit spaces: FACE Bass clef...lines: Good Boys Deserve Fruit Always spaces: All Cows Eat Grass This really helped me when I learnt to read bass but I had already learnt treble :)
Music reading is easy if you start from the beginning and take it slow while learning. I can read almost all types of sheet music.
