Factoring by grouping : xy -3x -8y +24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[(xy-3x)(-8y+24)\]-->Group them \[x(y-3)-8(y-3)\]-->factor the gcf out of the groups (x-8)(y-3)-->put the gcf's as one group and the other two are ''repeats'' they are just one group. so it is just (x-8)(y-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what would i do about the 2nd x though?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you talking about the -3x
