well think of it this way if the # of columns of the first matrix is equal to the # of rows of the second matrix then it is possible to multiply

this wont work because\[\textbf{A}_{1,2} \textbf {B}_{1,1}=\textbf C_{?,?}\] but this would work \[\textbf{A}_{1,1} \textbf {B}_{1,2}=\textbf C_{1,2}\]
