Evaluate the composite function, where f(x) = 5x + 3, g(x) = x2 − 5x, and h(x) = 4 − 3x2. (f o f)(4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Basically you have: 5(5x+3)+3 Start by plugging 4 into the x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Giving you: 5(23)+3 ...you should be able to take it from there pretty nicely.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do I use the 5x+3 for the g(x) and h(x) as well?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. You're only concerned with f(f(x)). g(x) and h(x) might be used in a different problem. Not this one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. Thanks
