Which expression simplifies to 6h^2√3h? sqrt36h^5, sqrt49h^3, sqrt108h^5, sqrt18h^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Choice (C)...but why? So you're looking for a radicand that will produce a 6 on the outside but a 3 left inside.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All you do is square 6: (6)(6) That will give you 36. The 36 WAS underneath the radical before it was simplified. While it was under the radical it was being multiplied by the 3 that's still underneath the radical. Giving us: (36)(3) This gives 108.

For this problem, that's enough to select the correct response.

Hope that explained it somewhat. Take care.
