Solve this system of equations using substitution. Put your answer in ordered pair form, (x, y). x + 2y = 7 2x + y = 8

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

solve the first equation for \(x\) by taking away \(2y\) from both sides now you have \(x=...\) substitute this into the second equation \[2(...) + y = 8\] and solve for \(y\), the solution is \((x,y)\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

^(or solve for x in the 2nd equation and substitute the x back into the first equation) x = -1/2y + 4 --------------> substitute back into the first equation.

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

that works too,
