you can also tag them when they're offline. Usually if a person is offline, you cannot tag them. But, with fanning, you not only get notifications when they're online but you can also contact them while they're offline! So what are you waiting for? Come and fan some users!! 

But wait, there's more! it is rumoured that fanning people increases *your* teamwork score as well!!

Sorry, @lgbasallote, that post wasn't entirely accurate. You can always tag anyone on the site. However, offline users won't show up in your auto-complete suggestions box unless you are their fan.
