How many 4 digit number can be made using 0 -7 with no repeated digits allowed? My guess was since that is 8 digits, it would be 8x7x6x5, because one possibility is removed for each of the digits...but that gave me 1680 and its a multiple choice assignment question so thats not the answer :/

first digit can not be 0

in the first place we can use only 7 digits except 0 so for first place no of chances are =7 for secnd place there are ony 7 chances as one no is alredy used in first place for third place 6 chances for 5th place 5 chances so result is 7 *7 *6 *5
