A round bracket indicates that the number next to it or before it is not part of the answer but a square bracket indicates it it included in the answer for example x=(5, 9] it means that \(5<x\le 9\)

(5,9] it's meaning to 5 is open and 9 is close interval [5,9) it's meaning to 5 is close and 9 is open interval
