Use a paragraph proof to prove the same-side interior angles theorem. Given: Prove: Same-side interior angles are supplementary

What is a paragraph proof?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk honestly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I never heard of it before, let me look around....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright thank u

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Like this? http://library.thinkquest.org/2647/geometry/angle/proof7.htm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Seems like the proof you want , don't know whether it counts a "paragraph" proof...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah, OK I found out the difference between the proof in the link I gave you and a paragraph proof. http://www.homeschoolmath.net/teaching/two-column-proof.php/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have no eartly idea im horrible at this stuff

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK, so you basically just have to translate the 2 column proof (which is a valid proof) into something more like plain English but so that it is still convincing.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know what to write :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You will have to try and translate the 2 column proof. If I do it, it will be very obvious that you didn't do it and anyway you should have a go. First you can try to understand the 2 column proof, if you can do that it will be much easier to write the paragraph proof...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So like the first line just says "OK, we have a couple parallel lines and a transversal"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then personally I wouldn't bother with 2 and 3, just go straight to 4 and say "Clearly such and such angle is 180 degrees because it's on a straight line"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anyway you try and show me your effort tomorrow, I am off to bed....:-)
