what if you put it on an Area formula? does it go like this a(x)=(6-2x)(4-2x)?

That would only be the rectangle at the bottom. Since it's 3 dimensional, you want x(6-2x)(4-2x). Very close! :) You almost had it there! Just needed the 3D part
