A piece of double-stranded DNA consisting of 18 nucleotides would likely create a first-formed mRNA transcript having? Why is the answer 3 codons?

I'm not sure, that seems like an odd question, but maybe its because the promoter on the DNA strand which binds RNA polymerase to the DNA for transcription usually consists of six nucleotides (TATAAA), and the stop codon would consist of three more nucleotides, leaving only 9 nucleotides to be transcribed into three codons
