whats the difference between speed and acceleration?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

speed is about how fast u cover a distance nd acceleration is about how fast u vary the rate of covering some distance or say rate of varying speed

@ChynnaN Did you understand?

OpenStudy (shane_b):

\[speed=\frac{distance}{time}\]\[velocity=\frac{displacement}{time}\]\[acceleration=\frac{\Delta Velocity}{\Delta time }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

speed is a scalar quantity which tells about the magnitude of velocity and acceleration is a vector quantity that tells about rate of change of velocity with time.
