John wants to enlarge a 2x3 picture to 4x6. The schools copier can only enlarge up to 150% by whole number percents. Find two percents by which he can enlarge the picture and get close to 4x6 or less. Answers to choose from are: A. 150% and 133% B. 150% and 125% C. 150% and 150% D. 150% and 120%

I assume enlarge by 150% meant, if we have a specimen of area 100, it would be made to 250 that is 2.5 times the original value. using the above assumption, first time use max enlargement possible i.e. 150%. so we get 15 as area.(6*2.5) now we have to find a number such that the enlarged figure area becomes close to 24. so, 15*y=24. use this to find y. then use y to find the percentage.:)
