I'm on lecture 4 and I remember reading somewhere that you don't need to take notes for this course because they are provided for you. However I don't see any notes and I also remember the prof. saying in the first lecture that he won't be handing any notes out and that we should take our own notes. Basically I'm trying to ask "should we be taking notes on the lectures?"

I think copies of the code written in lectures is provided, but an explanation is not. I would say "Jot down notes on stuff that you think you're likely to forget." Any time I forget what something does, I just use the help command in Python anyway. "What does sorted do again? Let me type help(sorted)..."
