@scrappy do you have graph paper handy? if yes, this is a very easy problem. You basically plot your two points, create a right triangle, and find the hypotenuse. :)

There's a quick illustration of what I mean. For points that are easy to plot you can always do this. The idea is to get a feel for the relationship between the variables (x distance, y distance) so you can do it for ANY points, even crazy ones like (-1,939, 23,297) and (1, -34,439,232).
