All numbers that are divisible by both 2 and 6 are also divisible by 4. Which of the following numbers can be used to show that the statement above is False? A.4 B.8 C.12 D.18 E.24

i think the answer is D.18

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

Any particular reason you think D is the correct answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

becuase i multiply 2,6,4

OpenStudy (kinggeorge):

That's almost the right way to do it. You need to find a number that is divisible by both 6 and 2, and not divisible by 4. A. 6 doesn't divide 4, so this isn't the answer B. 6 doesn't divide 8, so this isn't the answer C. 6 and 2 divide 12, but 4 divides 12 so this isn't the answer. D. 6 and 2 divide 18, and 4 doesn't divide 18, so this must be the answer. E. 6 and 2 divide 24, but 4 divides 24 so this isn't the answer.

I hope that made sense. I've got to leave for a bit, but I'll answer any questions you have when I get back.
