Can you explain how: ln(x^5)-ln[(1-10x)√(x^2 +2)] = ln(x^5)-ln(1-10x) - ln√(x^2 +2) Thanks

ln(AB)=ln(A)+ln(B) does that explain?

Ah, seems obvious now. I was just worried about the sign but I can see that the minus carries over. Thanks
